Before your booking

What to prepare before your booking.

There are numerous components that go into hoist installations and servicing, so a few things need to be prepared for us so your booking day goes without a hitch.

Hoist installations

Installers encounter various difficulties when attempting to install hoists, therefore here are a few tips that will greatly assist the installers and also save you money by preventing the need for rescheduling.

Site access is clear leading up to the place of installation

Either an Isuzu NLR45-150 truck with the hoist on the tray or a Hilux ute with a trailer on the back will be the vehicles we use to install hoists. In order to install the hoist off the back using the crane, both vehicles will require leeway to back into the location where the hoist will be placed. So that we may move into position, we require a clear path to reverse. Any obstructions, abrupt drops, uneven terrain, or height limits must be disclosed as they may result in the installation being cancelled.

Concrete depth and grade

Another significant problem that installers encounter on the job site is concrete. Concrete depth and grade are the key problems. The installers must follow the minimum depth and grade specifications for each hoist that is fixed to the slab in order to provide a secure installation. We can help you buy the right hoist if you can let us know the depth and grade of your slab. We may arranged a site inspection and drill a test hole if you are unsure of the depth and grade in order to determine whether the hoist you want to buy is appropriate for that slab.

There are a few options that can be done to help with concrete depth, like:

Note: if the minimum slab requirements are not met there can be additional fees due to rescheduling.

Power to run the hoist

Depending on your availability to both and how you intend to utilize the hoist, all hoists will either be 240v or 415v. We advise speaking with the manufacturer to learn more about the hoist's power needs. Once you have all the necessary data, get in touch with your electrician to ensure that the proper power is available in time for installation. Please make sure an electrician is scheduled for the day if necessary, as we do not perform any electrical work.

Note: Most 240v power units will need a circuit rated to 15 Amp minimum to run.

Note: Some models of hoists require a neutral wire to operate the contactor in some 415v hoists.
